My retainer or night guard doesn’t fit — what should I do?

If your retainer or night guard doesn’t fit properly, the next steps depend on your situation.

✅ 30-Day Fit Guarantee

You are covered under our 30-Day Fit Guarantee if all of the following apply:

• You submitted new impressions for this order
• The appliance does not fit properly
• You contact us within 30 days of delivery

What we’ll do:

• You return the appliance
• We re-fabricate a replacement at no cost
• We provide a prepaid return label
• We cover all shipping

❌ When the Fit Guarantee Does Not Apply

The 30-Day Fit Guarantee does not apply if:

• The order was a re-order using previous impressions
• No new impressions were submitted for this order
• Teeth have shifted due to missed or inconsistent wear

In these cases, a new impression will be required to ensure proper fit.

🔁 Re-Orders, Lost, or Damaged Appliances

If you are ordering a replacement because your appliance was:

• Lost
• Damaged
• Cracked
• Chewed
• Warped
• Accidentally discarded

New impressions are NOT required as long as your previous appliance was still fitting properly before it was lost or damaged.

We will use your most recent approved impressions on file to fabricate your replacement.

🦷 When New Impressions ARE Required

New impressions are required if:

• Your current retainer or night guard no longer fits
• There is visible tightness or gaps
• You have not worn your appliance consistently
• You notice tooth shifting

This ensures your new appliance is made to your current alignment.

Why Fit Issues Can Happen

• Retainers and night guards are made from thin medical-grade plastic
• The material naturally stretches with regular use
• Teeth constantly attempt to shift back toward their original position
• Teeth also shift gradually over time due to natural jaw changes
• Nighttime wear is required long-term to maintain alignment

Consistent wear is essential to ensure continued proper fit.
